Therapy for Latinxs

Bilingual therapy for Latinxs in Oakland and online across California

Imposter syndrome is holding you back.

At work, you’re besieged by worry that you don’t belong.

Are you qualified, intelligent, and capable enough to succeed?

You see your white male colleagues speak loudly and confidently, and you feel so many things: anger at their ease, frustration with yourself, and longing to show up differently.

You wish you had a community of peers and mentors to support you along the way, but you feel so alone.

Working overtime to stay afloat…

There’s no time for rest. You constantly have to swim at full speed just to keep from drowning.

Stuck in survival mode, you work nonstop because that’s how your family got by when they came to this country.

When you think of your family, worries about their health, finances, or immigration status fill your gut. With the guilt of leaving home looming over you, you question whether you’re doing enough for them.

At the same time, you’re angry that so many of your peers don’t have to carry that burden.

The weight on your shoulders…

Carrying your ancestors’ stories, their immigration trauma, and their families’ dysfunction and violence is a heavy load.

Remembering how your parents ignored or shot you down as a child is gutting.

Acknowledging the ways our systems of oppression minimize you every day is exhausting.

You’re clear on this, though: You don’t want to carry this trauma forward. You want to interrupt the unhealthy patterns you inherited. You want a life of meaning and ease.

You’re DONE carrying it all… but how do you make a change?

Life doesn’t have to feel this heavy.

I hate to say this, but it’s true: Suffering is inevitable. Grief, rage, exhaustion, sadness… they are part of life (and part of what lets us know we’re alive).

But it’s possible to set down your heavy burdens and navigate life’s suffering with greater ease.

There is power in speaking your story out loud – in having someone hear you and help you hold its weight.

The beauty of therapy…

When you stop pushing away your painful memories and feelings and start turning toward them, a strange magic happens – they become more bearable. Instead of fighting against them, you begin to move through them – and toward something new.

As your therapist, I believe you hold the keys to your healing. My job is to help you find them so you can unlock a new and more expansive future.

I have an extensive and flexible toolkit, so our work together can shift depending on your preferences and needs. One day you might need to spill out everything you’ve been carrying and be heard; on another, you might want a grounding meditation; on another, some practical communication strategies might do the trick.

Therapy is not instant, and it’s not easy. But, when you commit yourself to the process and the work, it can be transformative.

Are you ready?

With therapy, you no longer have to do this alone.
