Are Anxiety and Perfectionism Dragging You Down?

Therapy That’s Practical and Deep So You Can Finally Move from Surviving to Thriving

In-person therapy in Oakland and online throughout California

Living Inside Your Brain Every Day Sucks

Anxiety and perfectionism have taken charge, making your brain a hot mess of a place to live.

Shut up, you nit-picky bitch!” you think for the millionth time that day, as your scolding inner critic picks apart yet another interaction.

You’re exhausted from feeling like you have to be perfect all the freakin’ time, and the wild swing between feeling like you’re absolutely killing it to feeling like a devastating failure.

The weight of past traumas keeps pulling you down, and no matter how hard you try to push it away, it’s only growing heavier.

Meanwhile, subtle invalidations of your queer, Latina, or immigrant identity sting like paper-cuts that, added up together, have started to burn.

To top it all off, you’re lonely as hell, keeping your suffering to yourself so that you don’t weigh down your friends or family with problems you feel you should be able to handle on your own.

You’ve Tried Everything

You’ve tried all the things: escaping your problems by drinking one (or four) glasses too many, bullying yourself into “doing better,” doom scrolling, reading a self-help book brimming with tips that you never try.

Maybe you’ve even been to therapy, but you felt like they were secretly judging you or they didn’t have the right tools to help.

None of these approaches have helped, leaving you stuck with a growing sense of hopelessness that weighs you down more each day.

PSA: Therapy Can Help!

Therapy has helped countless people move through their traumas so they can live joyful, vibrant lives. Studies show that a whopping 80% of people are better off after therapy.

For those who are really ready for change and who are serious about Doing The Work, therapy offers some truly juicy benefits. Research shows that therapy helps people:

Gain awareness of their patterns so they can start to shift them

Learn coping strategies so they can more easily navigate life’s challenges

Develop healthier communication skills so they can feel more connected to others

Hi, I’m Katherine… And I’m a Recovering Perfectionist

I became a therapist because (you guessed it!) therapy worked for me.

I was living in New York City (overwhelming), working as a consultant (soul sucking), dating a beautiful Peter Pan (exhausting), and binge drinking on the weekends in a desperate (unsuccessful) attempt to escape my anxiety.

All I can say is, thank goddess for therapy. Therapy helped me make sense not only of why I was stuck in a life I didn’t want, but also how to change my patterns and go after the life I actually wanted.

And I did it! My life now feels big, connected, and tender. I have a lovely partner, two silly goose kiddos, a community of wild and weird friends, and I do work that fills my heart up every single day.

I’ve seen the power of therapy for myself. That’s why it’s my mission to help others like me, who can imagine something different but have no clue in hell how to get there. Let’s get you the big, juicy, easeful life you are meant to live.

What My Clients Are Saying

  • “It’s crazy to think back on how I felt a year ago.

Life felt crushing and getting through each day was a massive struggle. I was binge drinking and smoking tons of weed, pissing off my girlfriend, forcing myself to work nonstop, and then repeating. I still have hard days, but I have the tools and community I need to get through them. I am so grateful to Katherine. It feels like my higher power speaks to me through our sessions.”

    -Coaching Client A.

  • “Does it sound weird to say that I look forward to coming to therapy every week?

When I started therapy I didn’t like myself anymore or even know who I was or what I wanted. I had just gotten out of an abusive relationship, was unemployed, and didn’t have any friends. Now I find things to get excited about every week, and I appreciate all these things about who I am. I’m still working on setting boundaries and going after my goals, but it feels easier with Katherine’s support.”

    - Coaching client R.

  • “Doing therapy with Katherine has been crucial to maintaining my sobriety.

Right away our work together was so helpful. We started by examining what needs I was trying to meet with my addiction, and she gave me concrete strategies I could use to meet those needs in different ways. Lately we’ve been exploring how my childhood trauma shows up in my addiction, and – even though it’s painful to look at that – Katherine is so compassionate that I can share things with her I’ve never shared before. It’s such a relief to release it.”

    - Coaching client L.

  • "Katherine has talked me through some of my most complicated, painful conflicts...

in a way that helped me reframe my mindset and grow even when I came into our conversations feeling defensive and closed off. She is so patient and insightful, and I always feel safe when I’m talking to her.“

    -Coaching Client S.

  • “Katherine’s calm, cool and collected demeanor...

Makes it very easy to navigate the complex emotions and hurdles life throws our way. She is patient and direct, intelligent and compassionate. I would recommend Katherine tenfold to anyone looking to go into deeper waters.“

    -Coaching Client N.

  • “Katherine is insightful, compassionate, and attentive...

as she provides a healing environment for people to engage with their stories. She is a gifted therapist who embodies the qualities that encourage others to embrace a journey of growth.“

    -Coaching Client J.
